This is portrait of a land diver on Pentecost Island or Raga (tribal name) preparing for a jump. The Naghol (Nangol) is held between April and June every year. Men in the southern part of the island jump from tall towers (around 20 to 30 metres) with lantana vines tied to their feet, in a ritual believed to ensure a good yam harvest. It is also used to show acceptance into manhood.

This poster design is named for the American messianic figure-head of the Vanuatu Cargo Cult, John Frum. On Tanna Island there is a Cargo Cult which worships a figure called 'John Frum' There is speculation that this figure was an American and the name John Frum was a shortening of 'John From America'. The cult supposedly started in the 1930's but gained popularity during World War II when 300,000 troops established themselves in Vanuatu.
